Gunther von Apfel is a striking looking 18 month old classic German Shepherd.  As large as this boy is, you would not expect him to be a wonderful mid-energy dog.  He has a very mellow calm personality but still enjoys the active life. If medals were given to dogs that walk perfectly on leash, Gunther would be first in line; he walks right next to your leg.  Super sweet and well behaved, Gunther relishes every minute he gets to spend with you and, at the end of the day, wants to cuddle next to his owner while you watch the sports channel.  Gunther is very loving and affectionate -- always looking for your hand or resting his head on your lap. This handsome hunk enters canine playgroups very confidently and likes to flirt with the submissive females.  He flexes his muscles with more dominant or energetic dogs and on leash he will react to other dogs but quickly stops as soon as we correct him. He can be picky when choosing his furry friends but he does good when he feels there’s no threat. To set him off on the right path, a free training class will be provided with his adoption.
